MoonShadow is a fictional setting designed by Jack Lhasa and David Cunningham with the purpose of creating stories, art, and mixed media within.

MoonShadow is a completely alien setting. In a far off galaxy, a satellite about half the size of Earth orbits an enormous Ice Giant. Life developed and evolved on that little rock. Here, physics and magic wove together the laws of reality. Magic is intrinsic in all things.

Life there only gets about 6 hours of actual daylight. It also has just short of 6 hours of total darkness. The other 12 hours are transitions in shades of blue because of that ice giant hanging in the sky.

A majority of living things had developed bioluminescent biological mechanisms. The more advanced mammalian and fungi had eyes that made the dark less dark, and the light less blinding. Other sensory organs that had evolved to flourish here are quite common.

As these things tend to do, after some time, life evolved there. It was weird. Crazy-colored. And absolutely beautiful. Soon, those living things increased in complexity. Ever still, they began to understand things.

With this new understanding came an incredibly nagging desire to make sure others also understood things.

Language was born.

Everything went to hell from there.
