I'm fresh off of a public session in GTA Online - don't actually do that to yourself - since I wanted to clear my daily challenges, one of which I can't do solo… and I'll be honest, I'm kind of pissed.
There was this guy, massive ego, couldn't stop talking shit, killed everyone on sight. I kept losing to him, too. He was good, but basically a sore winner. Even killed himself just so that kills didn't get attributed to others, since the game doesn't count assists.
I eventually just had to quit because it simply wasn't worth riling myself up over this. Should've invited him to a Tetris match… but I think he would've just laughed at me and ignored the request.
Yeah, I've been taking this interaction way too seriously for my own good. It's unfortunately a common occurrence for me with games like these - I tend to avoid PvP for a reason. There'll always be someone getting snarky at you because you suck (or even if you're better than them) - whether you're on their team or the opposing team.
Naturally, you'll want to retaliate, but that's exactly what they want. It's like a trap they set unintentionally, and you set it off unintentionally. And then you end up in a feedback loop - unintentionally.
…I've got to start playing better games again. The quality and state of a piece of media seems to represent its community/fandom uncannily well.
