Note on how I've consumed self help content in the past

Ever since I've had access to YouTube I've been attracted to self-help content. I've been in all sorts of niches and loops that a typical self-help consumer falls in. The most common is the problem where you're consuming content and you think you're doing something productive cuz at least the content is meant to be helpful and not entirely for getting some instant gratification. Currently, I don't actively follow any creator because I now only only watch videos relevant to whatever problem as a priority. If I'm struggling with understanding how to rest better than I'll search that and go towards any video that seems helpful. Be it from a creator that I've watched in the past or not.
Below is a list of content creators who I've binged in or at least resonated with some of their videos in the past. If something intrigues me I still do watch self-help content but now it's just inspiration for me. I then utilize whatever I've learnt and into my own personal circumstances and existing systems and update if I found anything helpful. Blind following and thinking that someone else's systems that were found through experimentation will magically work on you is a fallacy and I think life is a constant experiment to find to what works for you. Self help content is just condensed stories of what experiments someone else did or what knowledge someone else condensed. It's up to you on how you use that knowledge in your personal life.

He's the author of "The subtle art of not giving a F***". I like his rebellious nature and honestly any of his videos are a good watch. Very real takes and breakdowns. He's not trying to beat a dead horse by saying feel good things that everyone says. I watch his videos once in a while after a few months and enjoy what he has to say. What he says resonates with me usually.

This guys is super artistic. He's made illustrated books and his videos style is super creative too. He used to be a proper drugged out junkie but then got married and had a kid and turned his life around. Multiple things that he's said and shown have stuck with me so lots of points for being real and saying things that stick. Haven't been a regular watcher of his for some time but he has my respect.

I love how he structures note-taking and I love how his brain works. He's not popular at all and I don't watch his content anymore but certain videos that he made on the PARA system or CODE system are great. I'll prolly buy his book BASB (Buliding a Second Brain) soon so that I can get a dense download of his key teachings. He's also one of the OGs who pioneered some of the systems that exist out there. I use PARA on my google drive till today so he gets points for giving me something that I still use.

Mr. productivity himself. Most of his content now isn't something that I'd watch. Too much fluff it feels like. However, some of his videos or the concepts that he covers is good. Sad that you have to pass over so much click-bait nowadays. He's the OG of the study-tuber (Youtube studying) niche. The mainstream choice of productivity YouTube

He used to be a regular productivity lifestyle with amazing cinematography. He has a documentary on Netflix regarding minimalism as well. Now he's a father and that has changed his views of things a lot. Especially how it's easy to be ultra optimized when you're single and no responsibilities however with kids and actual work you have to figure out things anew. I like his perspectives a lot.

He's a harvard trained psychologist. Proper insight into brain workings but his audience (twitch) are usually downers and things were helpful but I don't want to watch much more of his content anymore. Still once in a while I'll watch what he has to say but he usually posts his live stream talks that he's talking, as the nature of the format suggests, live. He's very eloquent but still I wish he focused on more positive topics of growth than problems on problems that average chronically online twitch watcher does.

He's full office productivity. He taught me the inbox-zero system of managing my gmail. Right now he's very AI workflow centric but his previous series on general work organization, communication and productivity are great. The things he taught are low effort changes that will make you overall more optimized

He's runs this program called 'FounderOS' helping founders scale and build personal brands and tap into their best creative potential. He churns out a lot of content and it's ok enough usually but sometimes what he makes is amazing and I watch it

I absolutely love their content. It's a team of three people and they tackle different types of topics each video. All three of them have their own niches in which they lead different videos but they are usually co-starring in each video. Informative content and very entertaining.
